Ankle Layering Perfection
I adored the A/W Rodarte show this year. It was so delicate and whimsical. As I flicked through the runway pictures my eyes kept wandering down to the gorgeous layering at the model’s ankles. I love layering and I think the way they used it here is just so beautiful and unique. Don’t you think?

I loved this whole outfit. It’s so wearable.
I’m embarrassingly far behind in my catch up of the Ready To Wear Autumn/Winter collections. But to start off, let me showcase 3.1 Phillip Lim. It’s a little hobo, it’s a little granny, it’s a lot adorable and a lot Phillip Lim. I love the soft nuetrals and the cool-toned, (very) sheer tights. I love that it’s playful. It’s certainly not my favourite 3.1 PL collection, but it’s cute. What do you think?

I fell in love with this gorgeous Chanel campaign from the moment I saw it, flipping through Vogue a few weeks ago. It features Claudia Schiffer, Freja Beha Erichsen and Baptiste Giabiconi. I love the rustic theme of this campaign, the soft colours and the white-washed stone and wood. The clothes look absolutely beautiful.

Entourage’s Ari Gold (played by the super-handsome Jeremy Piven) working it in spots and stripes.
I was reading a comment by Amie from Heartbeats, Intimidation (gorgeous blog, which you should visit immediately) on this post. She said: “[I] love how he’s rocking the 3 piece suit”. Well, I love three-piece suits and it made me think about another man (fictional character, really) who rocks three-piece suits and suits in general – Ari Gold. There’s no denying he is a stylish, stylish man.

Notice the similar colour theme (blue) with a contrast in pattern size and style.

Once again, working with similar colour ranges and contrasting with pattern; the pattern on the tie is busy and detailed, the pattern on the shirt is subtle with plenty of space.
Men in suits are pretty irresistible, but business-wear often ends up looking all the same. The key in keeping things interesting is to work with colour and pattern; both the type of pattern (stripes, spots etc.) and the size or proportions of that pattern.
The costume design in Entourage is a perfect example of working with colour and pattern.

I’m generally less familiar with the male modeling world, so if you think there’s a model that deserves to be on this list, please write their name (and why) in the comments!
Who is your all time favourite male model? Who is your favourite from this list? I always think the boys in the Burberry Campaigns are gorgeous, but never know who they are.

This is purely subjective, and the models are listed in no particular order. First up, it’s:
Magdalena Frackowiak (see above)
Polish-born Magdalena (born October 6, 1984) appeared in international runways from 2006. She is signed with DNA Models New York and has appear on the cover of Italian, German, Japanese, and Russian Vogue. She is currently ranked #17 at models.com.

Tao Okamoto
Born in Japan in 1987, Tao has recently become the face of Ralph Lauren – interesting choice! She signed with Elite in 2006. Teen Vogue and Vogue Japan have labeled her a “Rising Star” and “Girl of the Moment” for 2009/10.

Lily Donaldson
Lily has a kind of quirky beauty that I adore. She is a British model who was scouted in 2003 by Select Model Management. Vogue Paris declared her one of the top 30 models of the 2000s and she is currently ranked #5 at Models.com.

Lily Donaldson also happens to be the cousin of my step-sister, Chelsea Donaldson, who began modeling for IMG in Paris a few months ago. She is currently modeling in Japan. Here are a few pictures of Chelsea:

Du Juan
Du peaked as a model around 2006, but I still think she is absolutely gorgeous. She’s Chinese and a former Ballerina. Currently rated #45 at models.com.

Abbey Lee Kershaw
The adorable Abbey Lee was born in Australia in 1987. She has appeared in editorials for V, Numéro and Chinese Vogue, and has been on the cover of Australian Vogue, V and Dazed & Confused. Abbey is ranked #10 at models.com.

Gemma Ward
Gemma Ward is one of my favourite models of all time. I think she is absolutely gorgeous. At sixteen, Gemma was the youngest model to be listed by American Vogue as one of the nine “It Girls” in the modeling world. In September 2004, at the age of 16, Ward became the youngest fashion model on the cover of the American edition of Vogue and was the first model to appear on the cover of Teen Vogue magazine. She has walked for Prada, Versace, Gucci, Chanel, Valentino, Alexander McQueen, and many more. She has appeared on 30 covers of Vogue magazine worldwide.

Of course, not included in this list are some of what I consider to be the most beautiful models of all time, like Christy Turlington, Helena Christensen, Kate Moss etc. But I’ve kept this list to models who have been current in the past 4 years. Perhaps I’ll do a ‘Most Beautiful Models of All Time’ post. Who do you think is the most beautiful model of all time? There’s no right answer, of course! Gemma Ward is right up there for me.

I’m feeling nostalgic today. Last year I backpacked around South America for 6 months. Here are some photographs from my time in Chile.

Do you find it hard motivate yourself to exercise? Victoria’s Secret fashion show is a good motivator. Every time I watch it I feel like hitting the gym for weights and running 10 kilometers, haha. I love VSFS, but I’m not a fan when the models look too skinny, which a few of them did this year. Healthy curves and tone look much nicer, in my opinion.
I’ve recently joined a new gym and am hoping to get back into daily exercise.
